Preparation: Stear alcohol reacts with maleic anhydride. The reaction product is then isomerized and converted into a salt to obtain sodium stearoyl fumarate; it is stable at room temperature and pressure, and appears as a white fine powder.
Application: Sodium stearoyl fumarate is an efficient lubricant with lower hydrophobicity than magnesium stearate, which can avoid issues caused by divalent magnesium ions. It can significantly reduce the risk of over-lubrication and minimize the film formation of effervescent tablets, and different particle size specifications can be provided upon request.
