Product Features: White or slightly yellow powder, with no special odor, insoluble in water, acids, bases, and common organic solvents. However, it has strong swelling ability in water without forming gel-like substances, and can complex with peptides, hydroxy acids, and other low molecular weight chemicals. Cross-linked polyvinylpyrrolidone is a commonly used disintegrant for high-grade tablet drugs, and is especially suitable for formulations of instant-release and chewable medications.

Uses: Due to the characteristics of cross-linked polyvinylpyrrolidone being insoluble in water and other solvents and rapidly swelling upon contact with water, it is widely used in the pharmaceutical industry as: 1) a disintegrant, 2) a suspension stabilizer, 3) a moisture absorber, and 4) a complexing agent for tannins and polyphenols in plant extracts or herbal medicines.
